Noon Pacific
Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026
Noon Pacific is run by Clark Dinnison, an individual based in Newport Beach, California (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect when you use noonpacific.com and its emails, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: we keep what we need to run the site and send the email, we don’t sell it, we don’t run ads or ad trackers, and we don’t track whether you open our emails.
What we collect
- Your account. Your email address, your member number and join date, and your email and display preferences. If you sign in with Google, we also receive your name and profile photo from Google. If you add a handle or upload a photo, we keep those.
- If you were on our list before. If you subscribed to the Noon Pacific newsletter between 2012 and 2021, we created an account from that subscription with your email address and original sign-up date, so you keep your place. We didn’t email you to do it.
- What you save and submit. The things you save, and any links and notes you submit.
- How the site is used. Pages viewed, songs played and listened to, links clicked out to, and shares, with the page address, referring site, and a random identifier that lasts only as long as your browser tab. We don’t store your IP address and don’t use cookies for this. If you’re signed in, this activity is linked to your account.
- Email delivery. Whether each email we send was delivered, bounced, or marked as spam, as reported by the receiving mail server. We don’t track opens or clicks.
- Sponsors and Scouts. If you sponsor a collection, the name, website, logo, social handles and email you give us, and the status of your payment. Card details go directly to Stripe and never reach us. If you take part in the Scout program, which sales came through your link and what you’re owed.
Cookies and local storage
We use cookies only to keep you signed in, and one cookie (np_ref) to remember which Scout link brought you here, for 30 days. Your browser also stores your appearance setting and the last signed-in member on this device, so the page draws correctly before it hears from us. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Embedded players and maps (Spotify, YouTube, SoundCloud, Bandcamp and Mapbox) load from those companies when you use them, and they may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies.
How we use it
- To run your account, sign you in, and show your saves and profile.
- To send the collection email, if you're subscribed, and sign-in emails when you ask for them.
- To process sponsorships and Scout shares.
- To understand what's being used, fix problems, and keep Noon Pacific secure and free of abuse.
- To keep our email deliverable, including stopping mail to addresses that bounce or report spam.
If you’re in the EU or UK, our legal bases are: your consent for the collection email; performing our agreement with you for your account, sponsorships and Scout shares; and our legitimate interests for site analytics, security and deliverability.
What’s public
If you claim a handle, your profile page shows your handle, photo, member number and join date. If “Show my picture on things I save” is on, your picture can appear among the people who saved an item, never with your name; you can turn it off on your account page. The number of saves an item has is shown without names. Sponsor names, logos, links and handles appear on the collections they sponsor.
Who helps us run it
We don’t sell your personal information or share it for advertising. We share it only with the services that run Noon Pacific for us, under their own terms and security:
- Supabase, for our database and sign-in.
- Vercel, for hosting.
- Amazon Web Services, to send the collection email.
- Resend, to send sign-in emails.
- Stripe, to take sponsorship payments.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- Cloudflare, for our domain and email routing.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or anyone’s safety, or as part of passing Noon Pacific to a new owner, who would be bound by this policy.
Where it’s kept, and for how long
Your information is stored in the United States. We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. Email delivery records and analytics are kept to run and measure the site. Payment records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from the collection email with the link at the bottom of any email, or from your account page.
- Change your handle, photo and what's shown publicly on your account page.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or to correct or delete it, by emailing legal@noonpacific.com from the address on your account. We’ll respond within 30 days.
California residents have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, to correct it, and not to be discriminated against for asking. We don’t sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms. If you’re in the EU or UK, you also have the rights to object, to restrict processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Noon Pacific isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date above, and if a change is significant we’ll let members know. See also our Terms of Use.
